How long does it take to learn a single chord?
To answer these questions, we created a program that tests students on how long it takes to learn chords based on a combination of math, listening comprehension, learning styles, and music theory. The program is based on a series of questions that help you to assess students’ skills at remembering the chord relationships in a particular piece of music. The program is open to everyone, but the information found here is primarily designed for college students.
As a refresher, here is a quick recap of the information we use to estimate how long it takes to learn each type of knowledge:
Number One — Learn to memorize the number one. We ask students to memorize the notes on a single string, the interval between two notes in the chord, or a number of notes in the bass.

Learn the chord relationships. Number Five — Learn to count down as many beats as we asked.
The following three files are the files students can download to use with the program. Each file contains three questions and five chords, and one question for each of the five chord types. The questions are also available in the form of a PDF file that can be printed from a computer, Kindle or Nook device, or printed from the web. If reading the files from any other device, a PDF reader is required.

I had a great time at the 2014 PASTROPO National Convention. Not only did I get to meet all the amazing people involved from different facets of my life, but I got to meet up with our local sponsors who were also very happy to see me.
Some of my sponsors in my pictures:
Amberle’s Tea. This small manufacturer and the owner of Amberle’s is in the same office building as the PASTROPO Convention. They are located at 2520 Market Street, downtown Las Vegas, NV
