This will depend on a child’s age and learning style. Children under the age of 5 and even children 5 to 9 years of age are best started under the instruction and guidance of a teacher. As the child gets older, and in the case of many children with learning disabilities, special education programs will be required to give them the proper help. Children over 12 years old will generally be required to go to an educational center.
If you must make a choice, I’d go to a private tutor or educational center.
I think you are going to come out of this with a sound education. My philosophy on private tutors is they are expensive and you don’t get everything you need. I’m not going to give you the exact fees because you have to shop around. However, I would like to point out that these days any private tutor will start at around $1,200 for one week. I’m also going to let you know that there are private tutoring centers that will take no more than $100 a day or less. I always like going to a center because it allows you to explore the different programs and see the instructors working with the student.
What is it like teaching music?
Well, this is a really good question and I could really give you a whole lot of answers but I’ll let you decide for yourself. I think if you are a good teacher, it will be easier to give your children good music lessons just in general.
You can read some of my past articles on music here.
Are there specific books or guides that have been successful for me?
Yes, of course! Music is not an easy subject to master, but there are certain books that are effective. One of my favorites is Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Master”, which is about how one artist gets involved and becomes a mentor to others. His own life has influenced his work and I think his books are very effective.
Other popular books that have inspired me include John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men”, John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men” and William Faulkner’s “Of Mice and Men”.
I actually read the first chapter of Faulkner’s book in school and he made an amazing story that I think is really applicable today.
Do I need to have music training?
This will be up to you, but I feel in general, music should be taught through piano or guitar, especially with children
