It’s a tricky question, and depends a lot on the type of video you work for and where.

If you’re trying to get a video job at a news organization, you might only need a few hours of work per day (though you could need several hours of video in some cases). If you’re trying to make a documentary video for a website or magazine, you’ll probably want to be doing more than 10,000 hours per year to make the income you need. The Department of Education has confirmed that eight people who received a £1.5 billion grant from the Government have failed to live up to the terms of their scholarship.

They include two doctors, a musician and two dentists. They were all expected to contribute £75,000 per year in grants. But none had contributed £75,000 in the past three years.

It’s estimated that many of those students are now spending their spare time on illegal drugs or in bed drinking.

The university education minister, David Willetts, said: “This grant scheme has not worked as intended so the Government is now reviewing this programme.”

He said he was making “substantial amendments to ensure this does not happen again”.

The Department of Justice has also said that it is reviewing “the current arrangements relating to the receipt of student loans from the Department of Work and Pensions” because of these failures.

Officials said the strike targeted an Isil oil tanker from the group’s besieged stronghold of Raqa, which is in western Aleppo province
