This may seem like a no-brainer, but if you’ve worked for months to improve your life for whatever reason, and are about to start a new job just as another month comes to an end, it’s important to make sure you’re doing everything you can at the same time.
If you can’t do this all at once, it means you have no idea what your long-term goals will be, and you’re wasting precious time.
So what if I don’t give a crap about the money?
I don’t care. Why are we doing this anyway? In many ways, you can use this as a guideline, so let’s take a look at some of the ways it can be used… while at the same time, recognizing that a job shouldn’t be the main focus and instead should be based on your strengths and needs, not the “job market” and your bank account.
1) A job is an opportunity
A business is about more than just making a profit. If your purpose is to make money by doing work for some corporation, that’s not a job. It’s not even something you might want to do long-term if you think you’ll become famous.
A good job is about creating value for others, and being able to do so in a way that is positive for you and others around you. This sounds easy, right? It really isn’t. And this is where it can be a problem – a lot of people think it’s only important to make a profit right away.
If you think about those things, but don’t know what to do with the money you have, or don’t get them from the corporate world, then you’re going to be left with a lot of time and energy to “go” somewhere else.
