Draw freely and without constraint

There are two types of free drawing, one is when you draw what you want and one where the restrictions are placed on you.

The first type of free drawing is when you draw freely and without constraint. In this type of free drawing, there is no restrictions because you want to draw to whatever you want to draw.

In this example, the reader will draw a triangle on top of a circle. The circle is drawn on the ground.

When you draw freely, you do not draw a line which has the shape of a circle and which is drawn on the ground.

Free drawing is a creative process whereby you create what you want to draw.

When you draw freely without constraints, you are creating a specific shape which you can draw any way you want. The shape that you will draw in free drawing is dictated by your desire and your inspiration.

If you are drawing a wall that has a curve or a square, you will make that shape only with constraint because you want to draw a square (or circle). When you create what you want, your creativity becomes more free.

When you go beyond the free drawing, where it does not define a shape, you can use constraint.

In this example, the reader will draw a rectangle on a square. The rectangle is created by putting a line on the edge of the rectangle.

The rectangle was built by placing a line on the square and using the ruler as a guide to draw a line from the point the line is placed on the square to the border. This will form the shape that the reader drew.

If you want to be free and limit your creativity in drawings, use constraint as the starting point and allow your imagination to flow with you.

Another type of free drawing is when the restrictions are placed on you.

In this type of free drawing, there are restrictions placed on you so that you have to use your drawing freedom to explore them.

This is to be appreciated as a creative process in which you create what you are inspired by!

What is constraint?

Constraint will always be around where the drawing starts, regardless of who is the viewer.

In this example, the shape of the triangle on the floor will always be constrained by the height of the floor.

The shape is a rectangle and the floor is defined by the height of the rectangle. The floor height will always have the length
