How about a couple weeks, or less? And you can be a pole dancer in a couple weeks, or less. And you can be a pole dancer in a couple weeks, or less. You should do it a couple of weeks, or less. And then you go to a club full of people that do do it well. You know, everybody’s a pole dancer. And you start to take pole. The people are the people—just like everybody else’s dancing, but you have this little piece of joy that you take. You get used to dancing pole and then you get used to being good at pole dancing. The same could be said for doing any other thing really well.
I don’t know much about the pole game, I don’t know anything about pole dancing. But my mother and father told me that I could do anything I put my mind to. They always said that. If someone asks me to do a choreography my dad would be so proud. If somebody asked him to do a ballet he said I could do it. But as soon as someone asked me to dance it—that was it. It was me.
So you did pole dancing for so long that you learned to dance any dance that was on offer. Was that your way to become a dancer?
It wasn’t to become a dancer. It was to become myself. In the dance world it’s never a way out that you want to go, unless you have a bad thing that you can’t do in that situation. It’s like all the time I was in school—if I was ever in trouble, I’d go dance. I’d always be happy to get down on my elbows on the floor. If you want to be a real good dancer you have to be able to do the same thing on stage. And if you want to be really real good, you need to be able to do the same thing onstage.
What was your first real school of pole-dancing in life? Did you have a father who taught or did you?
Oh yeah. My father is a very good man. I saw him about every Saturday at 6:00, 6:30. If he was really busy, he would come just up to my door and say hello and shake my hand, or take me to his house and be out on the balcony. But I would always be watching the television. When I was 7, 8, whatever it was—I don’t remember the exact year it was
