What are some of the reasons I love pole dancing?
There are so many reasons to love pole dancing. It’s incredibly fun, a way for girls to connect, teach others and have fun! It’s something women and men could all learn. It is a celebration of all gender roles and the freedom we have in all kinds of physical activities!
Is it a dangerous activity?
If you’re interested in training pole dancers, you must understand that the risks of any activity such as pole dancing can be enormous, and some people may not enjoy it. The risks of doing pole dancing are very much like those of many other physical activity such as dancing – very specific training needs to be done in order to ensure safety and to minimize the risks.
What should a beginner pole dancer expect?
Pole Dancing is different from other activities, such as dancing, yoga or martial arts in that there is no choreography to follow and no specific teacher to learn from and there isn’t even strict training time allotted for you at an instructor. With pole dancing you don’t just take off and start dancing and there’s no specific schedule or program in place to help you get in shape. There is no specific plan, no set practice style and there’s no set time period when you can move from beginner to advanced pole dancer. It’s up to you.
What are some of my challenges with pole dancing?
Pole dancing can be challenging for people of all ages and genders and you have to choose which one works best for you. The more advanced the experience (with respect to dancing, yoga or more) you have, the more difficult the challenges will be. One thing that’s important to keep in mind though is that if you do find yourself feeling overwhelmed, don’t get discouraged! It’s really important to learn new ways to move and to move in new ways. Pole dancing is a great place to test your ability by simply getting to know your body and to discover the ways through which you move. Be patient and be open to new sensations.
