The club is where you go during the day.
My friend was dancing the night away and I just heard a really nice voice. I knew that voice from playing the same song live a couple years ago and it really got me out of my trance-like state.
There’s no song that has a longer duration than “Don’t Stop Believin'”.
We’re playing the last track of “Don’t Stop Believin'” and we need to stop soon or we are gonna have it on repeat forever. I knew that I had to be as excited as possible to get the moment.
What else could you tell us about yourself and your career?
I’ve been very lucky in a lot of parts of my life. My dad was a lawyer in the city and my mom was a schoolteacher. I love what I do. Everything about what I do is all-encompassing. I love playing music. I love writing songs. I love recording them. I love touring. I love working out.
I like doing my own thing and I like to push myself to really reach out and do something different and really try something as difficult as we have done on our new album.
I’m really happy. I mean, it’s not everyday you are invited to perform at a major music festival, but we are so lucky.

I love country records. When I was a kid, every week I would go to my mom’s record store and she would have hundreds of CDs. She had hundreds of records, the first country records I actually listened to were those records from the early ’60s: Red River Records, Blue Note—the first records that would make a statement and change my life. They’re songs that say things to you, and even if you don’t understand exactly what they’re saying, you feel something inside.
I have a lot of music right now. That’s why at the end of the day, you can always
