There’s just no way! In a lot of cases, people do actually want to find their art, which is good, but they don’t know where to look. Just like in that photo, a little bit of information from some of the people in the group is all that’s needed and then someone will find it.
Why did you start tagging?
It just seemed like the right thing to do, seeing as how everyone in that group came from the same place and was a pretty big group with a lot of friends, like the taggers. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the old school taggers.
That’s how I learned to tag, it’s just something I love to do!
And it’s a whole lot of fun to tag other people’s tags?
Absolutely! I was always the first to pick up the most recent tags. It’s something they always like to look at first, and it’s one of those things they love to see too. It’s funny to see them looking at your tag, to see that it’s something you’ve started, it’s something that you’ve become, it means a lot to them. It also helps them to see how much more you’ve come along in the past month.
So far, do you find yourself tagging only during certain times of the day, or is this what you do all day every day?
It depends on what I’m doing, obviously. If I’m doing my usual tagging routine, I just pick my day as it comes, and then the day after. Sometimes just on random days, or random days on a week, or what have you. I do try to keep a fairly regular schedule, otherwise if I go through some kind of mental block I’ll end up tagging every day for two weeks straight no matter what, because I really don’t want it to be that bad.
What are your favourite tags?
Yeah, I have an awful lot of favorites. There’s a lot of tagging in Montreal at the moment, so it’s easy to go and check out some of the new tags going out. It’s nice to see all these new tags popping up, and I’m looking forward to seeing them get popular there. There are so many new people tagging nowadays it’s nice to see, it just goes to show how good the tag scene in Montreal is right now.
