When I was on duty here in Baja last summer, we had a couple of guys work on a couple of projects. One guy was spray painting the whole thing! He didn’t mind that I had the machine. When we used it as the art room in the building, people would just sit there and admire what was going on.
“People do crazy things here,” says R.D. “We’ve done a ton of work for various people. Sometimes you get to see stuff that maybe you would never have the opportunity to see, and that’s really cool.”

If you have been following the news in recent months, this is not going to be an easy topic for you to go through this week.
On Monday, September 9th, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. challenging the constitutionality of the California Prop 8, aka Prop 8, which prohibits same-sex marriage in the state of California. The lawsuit challenges Prop 8 by citing the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which reads, “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”
You might see two things about the lawsuit. One is that the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia is attacking Prop 8 in the most aggressive manner imaginable. The lawsuit is a blatant attempt to overturn the legal order of the United States of America. Under our constitution, laws are made by the people and passed by them. The people in America have the right and ability to pass laws against homosexuality and, when they do, they have a legal right to do so through a state constitutional amendment.
By allowing government to punish the person for their belief, government has gone so far off the rails and out of control that it poses dangerous, not to say constitutional issues of what is right and what is wrong. However, if it is a law that is against the will of the people, then that is the end of the world – which is why the First Amendment, which prohibits abusiveness in government, is
