In the past, I’ve been a big fan of having at least one dedicated game controller to give you a leg up when it comes to game navigation in a game’s menu screens. A nice tactile and tactile feeling interface that lets me know where, how, and what’s happening to my controls is very important. Unfortunately, a keyboard or joystick is not quite as comfortable or versatile or useful as a controller.
I had another plan, however. What if I could have a keyboard on each side of my monitor? I decided to go for an extra-large USB keyboard with dedicated Gamepad Control Pad, then swap the Gamepad Control Pad into it. The Gamepad Control Pad would then become a regular mouse to track what I was doing in-game, and vice versa. With that functionality, I can use one of the many controllers on the market to work on any game. I’d be able to switch my hands between games comfortably, and have a much more streamlined and convenient in-game setup and navigation. In other words, I’d be playing an improved version of how PC gamers used to play back when we had keyboards and mice. I love that idea.
